With Arcs, if feels as if the central mechanism, trick taking, will lead to less optimal 2p playability. It was obvious for past games published by Leder Games that while 2p games may not be the best experience, they at least will work with less than the optimal player count. I'm yet to watch a gameplay video, but Cole Wehrle's designer diaries and the actual rules have me close to being convinced that I won't pledge. The single exception this past May was the Arcs ruleset that was published in conjunction with their Kickstarter campaign. I do want to learn new games, but that feeling of being not interested in evaluating new games I already felt when Essen 2021 was looming on the horizon is still valid today. ![]() On top of less active gaming, I'm also reading less rulesets these days.
